Trauma-Informed Recovery Coach | The Grace Coach

Colorado Springs & Beyond Recovery & Strengths Coaching

If you’re searching for a trauma-informed recovery coach who understands both survival and what comes after, you’re in the right place.

I’m Angela Giles Klocke, a recovery coach based in Colorado Springs, working with individuals navigating life after trauma, domestic violence, and major life transitions. Many of my clients call me The Grace Coach because my approach centers compassion, self-trust, and sustainable growth, not pressure or quick fixes.

I help people move from survival mode into a place where they can reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and begin creating a life that feels like their own.

My Approach to Trauma-Informed Coaching

My work is rooted in trauma-informed coaching practices, meaning:

  • We focus on present-day awareness and forward movement
  • We build regulation, boundaries, and self-trust
  • We move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable

This is coaching, not therapy. I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, I support clients in applying tools, strengthening their voice, and navigating real-life challenges with clarity and confidence.

Clients often come to me feeling:

  • Stuck after getting out of an unhealthy or difficult relationship
  • Disconnected from themselves
  • Ready for change, but unsure how to move forward

Together, we create a path forward—one step at a time.

From Crisis Work to Coaching: My Background

Before becoming a coach, I spent over a decade working directly with individuals in crisis, advocacy, and recovery support roles, and a decade before that healing, mentoring, and writing about my own experiences to support others in theirs.

My experience includes:

  • Peer Recovery Coach supporting clients recovering from trauma and substance use
  • Confidential Victim Advocate serving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault
  • Client Advocacy Director leading programs, mentoring advocates, and supporting individuals in crisis
  • Crisis line support and safety planning for individuals in urgent situations
  • Facilitating recovery classes and group coaching environments
  • Speaker in classrooms and on stages
  • Memoir author and podcaster
  • And just human to human support without a role attached

This background allows me to bring both professional expertise and real-world understanding into every session.

I’ve worked with people in their hardest moments, and I’ve also walked with them as they began to rebuild and thrive.

My Coaching Focus: Life After Trauma

Not all coaching is about crisis.

Many of my clients are in a different place:

  • They’ve done some healing work
  • They feel more stable
  • And they’re asking: “What now?” That’s where my work expands beyond recovery into strengths-based coaching and post-trauma growth.

I help clients:

  • Clarify goals and direction
  • Build confidence and decision-making skills
  • Break patterns that keep them stuck
  • Follow through on meaningful changes in their lives

This is where survival turns into momentum.

The Grace Path and The Rising Path

My coaching is structured around two distinct but connected paths:

The Grace Path

Trauma-informed recovery coaching focused on stability, self-trust, and reconnecting with yourself.

The Rising Path

Strengths-based coaching focused on goals, growth, and building a meaningful life after trauma.

Clients often begin with recovery support and naturally transition into forward-focused coaching as they’re ready.

What Makes My Coaching Different

There are many recovery coaches. What makes this work different is how we do it.

  • Grace-centered, not pressure-driven
  • Strengths-based, not problem-focused
  • Support between sessions via text
  • Real-life application, not just conversation

This is not about fixing you.

It’s about helping you trust yourself again and building from there.

Speaker, Writer, and Advocate

In addition to coaching, I am a speaker, writer, and podcast host focused on trauma recovery, storytelling, and finding your voice.

My TEDx talks, Ask Me About My Tiara and “The Survivor’s Resume,” as well as my writing work all center on one idea:

When we tell the truth about our stories, we create space for change — not just for ourselves, but also for others.
